What an end cap is for An aluminium profile cut to length is left with two open ends: the LED tape, the adhesive, the wiring and the raw sawn edge are all on show. The cap closes that section — and does three things at once. It hides the cutting marks no saw completely avoids. It keeps dust out of the profile, where it settles on the tape and dims the output over time. And it mechanically locks the cover, which without closed ends can slide out of its channels.
