A slim tube that turns the ceiling into a design feature The GPL417 is an 80 cm tube from Gea Luce's modular ceiling system. At just 3.5 cm across it reads as a fine line drawn down from the ceiling, which is exactly the point of the design. The matt bronze finish scatters light softly instead of throwing mirror-like reflections, so the fitting stays a calm accent rather than a shiny object. Two parts you choose yourself The system pairs a tube fixed to the ceiling with a decorative spotlight that slots inside it. The tube comes in two lengths, 50 cm and 80 cm, and in four matt finishes: white, black, silver and bronze. Any length works with a spotlight in any colour, so you can deliberately contrast the tube and the head or keep both in a single tone. The spotlight is bought separately Worth knowing before you order: the GPL417 is the tube alone and carries no light source. The light itself comes from Gea Luce's decorative spotlight range GFA1740–GFA1743 — a 10 W LED module for 220–240 V mains, with a 36° beam, 3000 K colour temperature and a colour rendering index above 90. The matt bronze version, GFA1743, delivers 560 lm. The spotlight ships with its wiring and driver, but the driver is not built into the body, so allow space for it above the ceiling. Where it works best An IP20 rating keeps this fitting indoors, in dry rooms. The narrow 36° beam and the long reach suit accent lighting from height: a kitchen island worktop, a dining table, a hall console or a stairwell under a tall ceiling. Several tubes hung at mixed lengths create a rhythm that suits an island or a double-height living room.
