Endon Brair floor lamp black, brass shade interior, E27, 145.8 cm

Name: Endon Brair floor lamp black, brass shade interior, E27, 145.8 cm
Brand: Endon

Brair is a floor lamp with a dome shade set on a slim curved arm and a round, open hoop base. The metalwork is painted matt black and the inside of the shade is finished in antique brass — the brass shows only from below, when you look towards the source. How much space it takes The lamp is 145.8 cm high, 33 cm wide and 39.5 cm deep, and that depth comes from the arm, which carries the shade forward beyond the outline of the base. Set those two figures against the free space beside the armchair or sofa where the lamp is to stand — the shade needs somewhere to lean out over the seat. Compare the 145.8 cm height with the height of your furniture's backrest: that decides whether the shade ends up above a seated person's head or level with it. The luminaire itself weighs just under 2 kg, and the flat hoop base gives it its footing. Which bulb to buy and how it switches on The fitting takes one E27 source of up to 10 W in an LED version. No bulb is supplied, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself — for reading, warm or neutral white is the usual pick. The switch is a foot switch on the cord, so the lamp is operated without bending down. The flex is 2 m long and black; it sets the furthest distance from a socket at which the lamp can stand. The manufacturer does not provide for dimming. Build and what it is for The construction is metal throughout, painted matt black, with brass detailing. The head tilts, so the direction of light is set once the lamp is in place rather than chosen at purchase. The manufacturer files this fitting under task lamps — the movable head and narrow, enclosing dome aim the light at one spot, a book for instance, instead of lighting the whole room. The form pairs the industrial plainness of thin metal with a modern, unornamented shape. The manufacturer gives a 2-year warranty.Show more
