PURIA is a spotlight for 230 V single-circuit track with a GU10 socket, in matt black. It is 12.5 cm long with a 6.4 cm head and – important at the point of purchase – the track adapter is included. The adapter comes with it That is the first thing to check on any track spot: many fittings are sold without the adapter, which then has to be bought separately and matched to the system. Here the single-circuit track adapter is part of the set, so the fitting clips into the track straight out of the box. Mind the track type: this fitting is for the single-circuit mains-voltage (230 V) system. It does not fit three-circuit track or low-voltage magnetic systems – those are entirely different profiles and different adapters. 340° of rotation and 85° of tilt The head is rotatable and tiltable: it turns through 340° and tilts by 85°. In practice that is nearly complete freedom of aim – from straight down to almost horizontal, washing a wall. The 20° short of a full turn is a stop that keeps the wiring from twisting, and in a normal installation you will not notice it. This range of adjustment is the real reason to use track in the first place: the whole lighting scheme can be re-aimed after the room is rearranged, without touching the installation. A GU10 socket rated to 10 W The manufacturer's current datasheet gives a maximum of 10 W for the GU10 socket in QPAR51 format. The construction is intended for halogen as well as LED lamps, but the 10 W limit itself points the choice firmly towards LED – QPAR51 halogen only starts above that figure. No lamp is supplied. The manufacturer recommends its own QPAR51 GU10 lamps for this fitting – among them a 6 W version at 2200–2700 K, CRI 90 and a 36° beam. Beam angle is a design decision here: 24–36° puts a defined pool of light on a picture or a display, 60° gives gentle illumination to a part of the room. Aluminium and satin plastic The body is aluminium, the trim satin-finished plastic in black. The aluminium has a thermal job here: at 10 W it takes the heat from the lamp base, and on directional fittings that translates directly into lamp life. Net weight is 153 g, gross 244 g. When planning a long run on track that figure matters: a dozen light spots load the suspension far less than a few heavy ones.
