Venus Wood 2030 is a five-light ceiling fitting, spread over 70 × 70 cm at 32 cm high. The frame combines metal in black with wood in a natural shade, and the shades are made of honey-coloured glass. Honey glass — what it does to the light This is the defining feature of the version. Honey, amber glass filters the light and shifts it warmer: even a neutral 4000 K lamp will come through this shade as distinctly warm light. Two consequences follow. First, there is no point buying cool-coloured sources here, because the glass will warm them anyway into a hard-to-predict tint. Second, honey glass absorbs part of the flux, so with this lamp it is better to aim at brighter sources than you would calculate for a clear shade. The low 32 cm profile lets it hang where a chandelier would be too low, but with five exposed sources it is worth thinking about decorative bulbs: in this structure they are part of the decor, not merely a technical component.
