A wall light whose hero is the bulb UNICA WHITE reduces a wall light to three parts: a round backplate at the wall, a horizontal arm, and a thin rod from which a metal ring carrying an E27 socket hangs. There is no shade in the usual sense — only a low white cylinder covering the socket from above. Everything else is the exposed bulb. That is deliberate: the fitting is designed around a decorative lamp, so choosing the bulb here is not a technical detail but a design decision. White on white, metal on metal Frame and socket cover are entirely metal, painted white — no contrasting finish, no gold interior, no distressing. Against a pale wall the fitting all but disappears and what you see is the bulb and its shadow. Against a dark wall it works the other way round: the white line of the arm becomes a graphic in itself. It is made by Keter Lighting in Poland and assembled by hand. Proportions, and where to hang it The fitting is 30 cm tall, projects 19 cm from the wall and is 12 cm wide. Projection is the number that matters: 19 cm is enough for the bulb to hang clear of the wall line and light what sits below it — a bedside table, a book, a console top — rather than just the plaster. A pair either side of a bed replaces bedside lamps without taking up surface. It works equally well beside a mirror, in a hallway, and along a staircase. You choose the lamp The E27 socket takes a lamp of up to 60 W, and no bulb is included. With an exposed socket that matters more than usual: an ordinary frosted GLS looks accidental here, whereas a retro LED — a G95 or G125 globe with a visible filament, at 2200–2700 K — completes the design. Bear the output in mind too: with the source uncovered, 400–600 lm gives pleasant mood light, while anything above 800 lm starts to glare in the field of view. Conditions of use IP20 confines the fitting to dry interiors — not the bath or shower zone. Supply is ordinary 230 V, with no driver. Gross weight is 0.7 kg, so it holds on ordinary plugs, plasterboard included.
