STRAP 27 is a pendant 27 cm across in opal glass (RAL 9016), hung from a leather strap on a white textile cord 300 cm long. Designed by Bjørn + Balle for Design For The People (Nordlux). Two straps in the box — brown and black This is the detail that changes the lamp's character and does not show in a product photograph. The manufacturer supplies two leather straps: one brown, one black. You swap them yourself, so the look is chosen after purchase — brown warms the piece and pushes it toward a Scandinavian interior with timber, black gives contrast and moves it closer to industrial. The strap is the only element touching the glass — hence the name of the series. Leather is a natural material: over time it darkens and softens, which on this lamp is intended rather than wear. The light: opal, not clear glass The shade is opal inside and out — not merely frosted on the outside. That has two consequences: The bulb is not visible as a point. You can hang the lamp low over a table without seated people looking into a glowing envelope. Nor do you need to buy a decorative filament bulb — it would not be seen anyway. The light is soft and diffuse, with no hard shadows. The cost is lower efficiency than clear glass: some of the flux stays in the shade. The bulb is not included. Socket E27, maximum power 40 W. A Ø 27 cm shade takes both a standard A60 pear and larger globes — the only limit is wattage. Dimmable: yes, but through the bulb. The fitting has no gear of its own; both the dimmer and the lamp must be dimming-capable. Suspension and mounting White textile cord, 300 cm — very long, which allows the lamp to hang low even in a room with a high ceiling. The excess is shortened at installation. The cord is not replaceable — the manufacturer states this outright. Damage to it means service, not a DIY swap. Suitable for hook suspension, which simplifies fitting where a hook and outlet already exist in the ceiling. Parallel connection: no. Several of these pendants cannot be looped from one to the next — each needs its own outlet. Canopy Ø 12.5 cm. Net weight 1.2 kg.
