Aluminium end cap closing the end of the LUMINES TECO LED profile, catalogue index 12-2045-11. This is the version without a hole – intended for the end of the profile that no supply cable enters. Its counterpart with a cable pass-through is index 12-2045-10, and that is the only difference between the two. What the TECO profile is for It is worth knowing what system this cap belongs to, because TECO is not an ordinary surface-mounted profile. The manufacturer designed it to be cast into concrete: the profile is mechanically anchored in the formwork before the slab or wall is poured, and the concrete closes around it. That drives the whole construction – high rigidity, load resistance and wide flanges that hold the profile in position during the pour. The result is a precise line of light set into a concrete ceiling or wall with no visible housing. Why the end has to be aluminium On surface-mounted profiles, end caps are often clip-in plastic parts. Here that is not an option: the end of the profile is part of a structure that has to survive the pour and the plastering that follows, and once finished it remains a visible element in the concrete or plaster face. So the TECO cap is cast from aluminium and fixed with four screws rather than pushed on. The finish – silver anodised – matches the anodised surface of the profile itself, so the joint does not read. A universal side The cap is universal: it fits either the left or the right end of the profile, so there is no need to keep track of which piece goes where. One length of profile needs two end pieces – typically one with a hole on the supply side and one without a hole at the far end. Related parts in the TECO system The TECO profile itself comes in lengths of 1000, 2020 and 3000 mm in silver anodised finish (indices 10-1224-10, -20 and -30). Its cross-section measures 79.6 mm overall width including the flanges, 52.6 mm body width and 34.0 mm height; the strip channel is 24.6 mm because the system is designed for two parallel LED strips. The dedicated cover is LIFT TWO (11-3551-10, opal PC) – its construction allows the cover surface to be brought flush with plaster layers of varying thickness and gives service access to the strip after the finish is complete. For running the cable in conduit, Lumines lists gland 14-2029-03, and it carries self-tapping metal screws Ø3.5 × 6.5 mm as a separate set under index 14-2029-04.
