SAPPO M is a linear wall light 120 cm tall in a black aluminium profile just 6.5 × 4 cm in section. The built-in LED gives 2300 lm from 20 W at 4000 K and — the most interesting thing here — with a colour rendering index of CRI 95. CRI 95 — why it genuinely shows The great majority of LED fittings in this price class run at CRI 80. This one is 95, a level usually reserved for gallery lighting, consulting rooms and photographic studios. The practical difference is that colours under this lamp look as they do in daylight: timber keeps its warm tone instead of going grey, skin does not turn yellow or bluish, and textiles and pictures show their full saturation. For a wall light that matters especially, because this kind of fitting most often lights a wall with pictures on it, a mirror in a hallway, or an area where someone stands and looks at themselves. At CRI 80 every one of those uses comes off visibly worse. A metre and a fifth of vertical light At 120 cm tall and 6.5 cm wide this is not a supplementary lamp but an element of the wall composition. The profile is so slim — 4 cm deep — that it stays out of the way: it can go in a narrow passage or right beside a door, where an ordinary shaded sconce would be an obstruction. The usual applications are a pair either side of a mirror (a vertical line of light lights a face evenly, without the under-eye shadows that overhead light cannot avoid), a vertical accent in a hallway, or stairwell lighting, where 120 cm covers a whole flight. The manufacturer describes the character of the light as diffuse — the fitting makes no sharp pools but lights the plane of the wall evenly along its whole length. 2300 lm — more than a typical sconce An ordinary wall light gives 300–800 lm. This one gives 2300 lm, three to seven times as much — roughly three classic 60 W bulbs. A pair of these can replace ceiling lighting in a hallway or a bathroom (outside the splash zones), giving light from the side rather than overhead, which is considerably easier on the eyes. Efficacy works out at 115 lm/W, corresponding to energy class E. 4000 K is neutral white — legible for work and for make-up, without the yellow cast of warm white. The twin version TH.201 runs at warm 3000 K if you prefer a cosier character. Installation and build The fitting is surface-mounted: it fixes to the wall through a black rose, and the supply cable is transparent, so on a light wall it is less conspicuous than a black one would be. The body is entirely aluminium — the profile carries heat away from the diodes, which at 20 W has a real bearing on LED life. The light source is included and permanently built in — there is no bulb to change. Protection class I means installation requires an earth conductor. Protection IP20 — dry interiors only; in a bathroom it belongs outside the zones exposed to splashing. Its 1.295 kg is spread over 120 cm, so the fixings are best distributed along the profile rather than only at the ends.
