Paignton 1 Light Bollard - Stainless Steel Elstead

Name: Paignton 1 Light Bollard - Stainless Steel Elstead
Brand: Elstead Lighting

Paignton is a garden bollard made from a 316 stainless steel tube, 70 cm tall and 10.2 cm in diameter. At the top sits a frosted glass diffuser, guarded by two crossed metal bands shaped into arches. Apart from that detail the form is a plain, unadorned cylinder – a modern design from Elstead Lighting's own range, also available in brushed brass. Where it can stand The body is made from grade 316 stainless steel, often called marine grade. The alloy contains molybdenum and resists salt and chlorides better than ordinary stainless steel, which matters in a seaside garden, near a swimming pool and beside paving that is salted in winter. The IP55 rating means protection against dust and against jets of water from any direction, so the bollard can stand outdoors with no cover at all. At 70 cm the light comes out low, roughly at knee height, and falls mainly on the path, driveway or planting bed around the bollard. The frosted glass diffuses it, so the bulb does not show as a sharp, bright point. In our catalogue Paignton is listed for lighting the grounds of hotels and restaurants and for street-side areas. Bulb and connection The fitting has one E27 lampholder and takes a bulb of up to 40 W. No bulb is included, so you choose its colour and brightness yourself – a 2700–3000 K bulb gives warm light close to a traditional incandescent. The manufacturer states that the fitting works with dimmable lamps, so dimming needs a bulb marked as dimmable and a suitable dimmer. The bollard runs directly from 230 V mains. It is a Class I fitting, so the supply cable must include a protective earth conductor connected to the earth terminal in the fitting.Mostrar mais
