Two colours, two forms The Violet Quartz Vase is made of two clearly different parts: a tall, smooth tube of purple glass, and beneath it a flattened sphere in green, cut into small diamonds like the stone of a ring. That pairing — cool purple against deep green — is what the object is actually about; the name "Violet Quartz" describes the colour of the glass, not a mineral the vase is carved from. Recycled glass, shaped by hand The maker produces this vase from recycled glass, by hand. The practical consequence is that no two pieces are identical. The purple runs a little warmer or a little cooler, fine air bubbles can appear in the body, and the cut of the base may vary by a fraction of a millimetre. Bazar Bizar treats these differences as marks of handwork rather than faults — and that is how they are best read. A narrow neck, and what fits in it The tube is only 9.8 cm across at the foot and narrower still inside towards the top, so this is a vase for single stems and light arrangements rather than a florist's bouquet. It looks best with one branch, dried pampas grass, a sprig of eucalyptus or a single rose. Where to put it Purple-and-green glass lifts a neutral room — on a white sideboard, on an oak worktop, against a grey wall the colour reads clearly without shouting.
