Naïa Bois is a children's chest of drawers with three full-width drawers, in natural, unpainted wood with the grain left on show. The sides are built as a frame with an inset panel and the body stands on four turned, tapered legs. Instead of protruding handles, the drawers have recessed wooden pull strips running their whole width. Size and where it goes The chest measures 92.6 cm wide, 52 cm deep and 86 cm high. The top therefore sits eleven centimetres higher than an ordinary dining table — a height at which an adult works the drawers and the top standing up, without stooping. The 52 cm depth is the figure to compare with the walkway left in the room once the chest is in place; with a drawer pulled out, the same again is needed in front of it. Three drawers and the changing top All three drawers run the full width of the body on soft-close runners, so the last few centimetres draw themselves shut and the drawer does not bang. That is the whole of the interior — there are no shelves and no doors. The wooden changing box from the same range can be set on the top, along its length or across it. The box is not included and is bought separately. The chest itself meets NF EN 12221, the standard covering changing units. Wood and finish The structural parts are solid wood — Australian white cedar, melia azedarach and neem — while the panels are MDF faced with a thin veneer of real wood. The screws are stainless steel. Paints and varnishes are water-based and solvent-free, so the piece brings no chemical smell into the room once unpacked. The manufacturer says the surfaces are cleaned with soap and water, and gives three years of guarantee on the chest. Delivery and assembly The chest arrives flat, in two cartons weighing 53.37 kg together, with instructions and an assembly key. The packaging is cardboard, with no plastic or polystyrene.Show more
