A one-metre section of track from Spectrum LED's SYSTEM WLD. It is a black aluminium profile, 51 x 63 mm in section, with an open channel along its whole length — a fitting slides along it and locks anywhere, with no drilling and no separate outlet for each light point. A kit, not just the profile With the 1000 mm section the manufacturer supplies three accessories: a mechanical connector (joins two sections into one straight line), an electrical connector (carries the supply across the joint) and end caps to close the free end. Building a longer run from several metres therefore needs no separate small parts — each additional metre arrives with its own set. Safety extra-low voltage — this is not a 230 V track The manufacturer classifies this track as electrical class III, meaning it runs on safety extra-low voltage. In practice: mains is not fed directly into the rail — a system power supply is required, and the fittings must come from the same WLD system. Adapters and spotlights for a three-phase 230 V track will not fit. Check this before ordering luminaires. Surface or suspended mounting The track can be screwed straight to the ceiling or suspended on wires — the manufacturer permits both. The 63 mm profile depth gives the stiffness a longer suspended run needs, and the 51 mm width makes the track read as a deliberate line across the ceiling rather than an inconspicuous strip. The aluminium also works as a heatsink: it draws heat away from the fittings and extends the life of their LEDs. Operating conditions and warranty IP20 places the system in dry interiors. The operating range is -20 to +40 °C, so the track will take an unheated garage or loft as long as it is not damp. Spectrum LED gives a five-year warranty. A one-metre section weighs 1.583 kg — worth multiplying by the planned run length when suspending it.
