The motion sensor is a version here, not an accessory Mareco builds PIN 300 in three forms that differ only in control: plain, with a motion sensor, and with a DALI driver. This is the sensor version (factory code 400-076527EB) — the fitting switches itself on when someone enters range and off again once movement stops. It cannot be added later or disconnected: the sensor belongs to this particular catalogue number. At a front door, in a garage, on a stairwell or in a cellar corridor, that means the light never gets left on overnight. CCT switch: 3000 K or 4000 K Inside the fitting sits a colour switch that selects one of two temperatures before the cover goes back on: 3000 K (warm, domestic) or 4000 K (neutral, technical). It is not remote switching and not dimming — it is a decision made once, at installation. In practice one fitting suits both a terrace and a garage without ordering two variants. Output is 1415 lm at 3000 K and 1505 lm at 4000 K, drawing 15 W. A housing built for salt The manufacturer leads with this: the thermoplastic housing is particularly suited to saline environments. That matters by the coast and along roads salted in winter — powder-coated aluminium eventually corrodes under the coating in those conditions, while plastic does not have the problem. The base is through-coloured ABS granule (the colour runs through the whole material, so a scratch does not expose a different shade), and the diffuser is UV-stabilised polycarbonate, which does not yellow in sunlight. IP65 and IK08 IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction — the fitting can go on an unsheltered wall or under a car-wash canopy. IK08 means impact resistance to 5 joules, roughly a 1.7 kg drop from half a metre. That is the figure that counts in a garage, a workshop and anywhere a tool might catch the fitting. Wall and ceiling Mareco classes PIN 300 as a surface appliance for wall and ceiling mounting — same product, same base, just a different plane. The driver is built in, so no space needs to be found above it for a separate module. Protection class II: double insulated, no earth connection required. Size and range 300 mm across and 77 mm deep — a disc, not a dome. The same construction exists as PIN 260 (smaller) and PIN 360 (larger), each size in four colours: white RAL 9003, anthracite RAL 7016, dove grey and corten. This is the white RAL 9003.
