GES611 is a garden bollard 100 cm tall with a square 10 × 10 cm section, in graphite anthracite. The structure is entirely aluminium, and light leaves through a chamfered opal panel in the upper part of the post. A metre of height — what it means in practice One hundred centimetres is the height at which light falls on a path from above and covers it broadly, while the fitting itself is not yet at eye level and does not dazzle anyone walking past. It is the usual height for an entrance, a driveway and main paths. Lower bollards (30–50 cm) draw the edge of a lawn rather than light the surface; taller ones begin to compete with a lamp post. An opal methacrylate diffuser The chamfered section at the top of the post is filled with opal methacrylate — milky PMMA. Unlike glass it does not shatter on impact or become brittle in frost, and the milky structure scatters the light so the bulb does not show through as a point. The chamfer directs the output diagonally downward and to the sides. E27 socket and choosing a lamp The bollard takes a single E27 source up to 28 W. That limit corresponds to a compact fluorescent; in practice LED is used today, and 8–10 W is enough to light a path. Colour is worth a thought: warm 2700–3000 K looks natural in a garden and attracts fewer insects than cool light. No lamp is supplied. Weather resistance and installation IP44 means protection against splashing water from any direction — rain and snow are no problem, but the bollard is not made for a hose jet or for standing water. The fitting is protection class I and requires an earth conductor; the garden circuit must use buried cable and be protected by an RCD. Net weight is 2.12 kg.
