AVO CW Single is a surface-mounted fitting: it is fixed onto the face of a ceiling or wall, not recessed into a suspended ceiling. A single conical head with a GU10 socket sits on an oval base plate, joined to it by a short jointed arm. The body is aluminium in a black finish. How much room it needs and how it is wired The fitting is 8 cm long, 11.5 cm wide and 9.5 cm high, and the head itself is 6.2 cm across. It is one of the smaller directional fittings, so on a ceiling above a shelf or a picture it stays almost unnoticed until it is switched on. The base plate that screws to the surface measures 8 × 5 cm and stands 3 cm high. The fitting connects straight to 220–240 V ~50/60 Hz with no driver or transformer, and safety class I means a protective earth conductor has to be present at the mounting point. The full aiming range The head both rotates and tilts: the tilt range is 90° and horizontal rotation 320°. From one mounting point you can therefore aim the light at a picture, a shelf or a worktop and change that direction later without moving the base. The same fitting works on a ceiling and on a wall, so the choice of mounting plane does not narrow the aiming angle. Which lamp to buy The socket takes one QPAR51 reflector with a GU10 cap rated up to 50 W. No lamp is supplied, and that limit refers to a halogen bulb — the same socket accepts an LED reflector, where you pick the colour and the beam angle to suit the task. At 2700 K the light is warm and slightly yellow; at 4000 K it is neutral white. The fitting gives direct light: the whole output leaves the front of the head, in whatever direction it is aimed.
