The Zambelis E146 is an outdoor wall light built as a rectangular aluminium box with a textured graphite finish. Tempered glass closes the openings at the top and at the bottom, so the light leaves the housing upwards and downwards at the same time. How big it is and how much wall it needs The body measures 22 cm across and 9 cm high, and it stands 12 cm out from the wall. That last figure decides where the fitting will go: compare it with the width of the walkway running along the wall and with the depth of your entrance recess. It is a surface-mounted fitting, fixed straight onto the wall rather than recessed into it, and it runs on standard 230 V. How it lights — up and down Zambelis calls this an up-down fitting: the light travels in two cones across the wall, above and below the housing, instead of filling the whole area around it. That pattern draws a section of façade or a door reveal in light, but it will not give you even illumination of a driveway or a path. Inside sits a single E27 lamp of up to 18 W. The bulb is not supplied, so the colour and the brightness are yours to choose — around an entrance or on a façade 2700–3000 K is the usual pick, that is warm light with a yellowish cast. What it is made of and what weather it takes The housing is aluminium finished in graphite with a perceptible surface texture, and the diffusers are tempered glass. An IP44 rating means protection against splashing water from any direction, so the fitting belongs where rain reaches it: on a façade, above a door, by a terrace or on a fence.
