Zambelis 22108 is a pendant built around a horizontal aluminium bar 62 cm long and 2 cm in diameter, finished in matt gold. Two opal glass globes of different sizes sit on the bar — 15 cm and 10 cm across — placed side by side rather than symmetrically. The whole thing hangs on two thin cables that meet at a rectangular 15 × 6.5 cm canopy. How large it is and how high to hang it The bar measures 62 cm, a figure to compare with the width of the surface it will hang over: above a table 80–90 cm wide it leaves roughly ten centimetres of clearance each side. The canopy is 15 × 6.5 cm and 5.5 cm deep, so it covers a standard installation box. The manufacturer gives an overall height of 210 cm on a 200 cm cable, which is shortened during installation. Over a table the underside of the globes usually ends up 70–80 cm above the top. The fitting weighs 1.51 kg boxed. How much light it gives and of what kind The LED is built in permanently and cannot be replaced; the manufacturer states a life of L70B50 30,000 hours, about 27 years at three hours a day. The module draws 13 W and gives 1100 lm — more than an old 60 W bulb, so over a table the fitting is enough on its own as the main light. 3000 K is warm white, and Ra 80 means correct rather than the most faithful colour rendering. The opal glass spreads light all round the globes through a full 360°, so the fitting also throws light upward and sideways, not only onto the surface below. Dimming and connection The fitting can be dimmed, but only with a TRIAC dimmer — an ordinary incandescent dimmer will not work, and a dimmable lamp cannot be bought for it because the source is built in. Supply is 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz, drawing 300 mA. It is built to safety class I, so a protective earth has to reach the ceiling box. IP20 means no protection against water, so it goes in dry interiors only. The manufacturer gives a 3-year warranty. What interior it suits The manufacturer intends it for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hotel interiors, and the elongated bar is a shape for a table or a long counter rather than the middle of a square room.
