The Nordlux WESTPORT 60 DOUBLE is a weatherproof batten light in a grey plastic body, 55.8 cm long with a 5.4 × 5.4 cm section. Its integrated LED module draws 19 W and delivers 2100 lm of neutral white 4000 K light. This is a utility fitting: the manufacturer names the garage, the workshop and the carport outright as the places it was designed for. Sealing and resistance An IP65 rating means complete dust-tightness and resistance to water jets from any direction — a level that allows a space to be hosed down, not merely protection from damp. Added to that is a figure rarely quoted: IK08, mechanical impact resistance to 5 joules. In a garage, where contact with a plank, a ladder or a roof rack is easily made, that number says more than the IP rating alone. Light output 2100 lm at 19 W works out at about 110 lm/W — very good efficiency, clearly ahead of typical fluorescent weatherproof battens. 4000 K is neutral: it does not warm the scene or shift colour perception, which has practical value in workshop tasks. A colour rendering index of Ra 80 is enough to tell markings and wire colours apart. The 125° beam spreads light widely, so one fitting lights a strip beneath it rather than a spot. Two things to know before buying The light source is integrated and non-replaceable. Nordlux quotes a life of 25,000 hours — over 17 years at four hours a day — but at the end of it the whole fitting is replaced, not a tube. That is normal for this class of product and worth allowing for when mounting somewhere awkward to reach. The fitting cannot be linked in series. The datasheet states "parallel connection: No", so several units cannot be run one after another off a single cable the way ordinary workshop battens can. Each fitting needs its own supply — something to plan for when lighting a long garage or a basement corridor. Installation The fitting runs on 230 V and is class II — double insulated, so no earth conductor is required. It weighs 0.25 kg and mounts on the surface of a ceiling or wall.
