SERENITY 1217 is a wall lamp built from two parts: a slim rectangular bar of polished metal in gold, and a spherical shade of smoked mirror glass carried on a short stub arm about a third of the way along the bar. The shade is see-through — the lamp inside it stays visible. How much wall it takes The bar is 40 cm long, the shade stands 14 cm out from the wall, and across the fitting measures 18 cm from the edge of the bar to the outer edge of the globe. Compare the projection with how closely people pass that spot, and the length of the bar with the free strip of wall left between furniture and ceiling. In the manufacturer's photograph the bar hangs vertically with the globe in its upper part — mounted that way, the 40 cm is the height the lamp occupies on the wall. The manufacturer points this model at the living room. Which lamp fits The fitting has one G9 socket and takes a lamp of up to 8 W. No lamp is supplied, so one has to be bought — and it decides the colour and the brightness of the light, because the manufacturer publishes neither a colour temperature nor a lumen figure. The choice matters a second time here. The glass is clear and mirrored, so the bulb stays visible when the light is on: a lamp with exposed LEDs shows through as a cluster of points, while a frosted envelope gives a calmer picture. Build and connection The body is metal, polished to a high gloss in gold, and the shade is glass in a smoked mirror tone that reflects the room back.
