The ABANDO wall light from Jupiter is a classic fitting: a right-angled arm comes out of a round black wall plate and ends in a gold candle sleeve carrying a conical shade in black fabric. The inside of the shade is lined in gold, as are the dish below the candle and the ring holding the shade. How big it is and how far it stands out The fitting is 42.5 cm high and 19.5 cm wide, and it projects 28 cm from the wall. That last figure usually decides it: 28 cm is roughly the depth of a bedside table, so the light genuinely reaches into the room, which matters in a narrow hallway or in the walkway beside a bed. The fitting itself weighs 0.9 kg, so it puts little load on the wall. It gives one point of light. Which bulb you have to buy The socket is E27 and the manufacturer sets a limit of 1×E27/15 W. No bulb is supplied. In practice you fit an LED here and pick the colour yourself; for a living room or bedroom, usually 2700–3000 K. The black fabric of the shade is opaque, and the open top and bottom send the light vertically: up onto the wall and down onto whatever stands below. The gold lining throws part of that light back down and gives it a warmer tone, so the fitting works as accent and supplementary light rather than as a room's main source.
