Vejers Down is an outdoor wall light in galvanized steel, with a cylindrical head of clear glass hanging beneath an arm that comes off the wall. Three ring-shaped shade discs stack around the glass, and the lamp stays visible from below. The projection from the wall is 26 cm. How much wall it takes The fitting is 23 cm high and 22 cm wide, and the shade is 22 cm across. The 26 cm projection puts the light beside the wall rather than down its face, which is why the fitting works over a front door and at a driveway, where a stretch of paving has to be lit. The round back plate screws to the wall and covers the box. The fitting weighs 1,327 kg. A terminal for parallel connection is built in, so several fittings on the same facade can be run from one supply. How the Vejers Down lights It takes one E27 lamp of up to 60 W. No lamp is supplied, so colour and brightness are yours to choose — at an entrance or on a terrace warm light around 2700 K is the usual pick. The fitting can be dimmed if a dimmable lamp is fitted. The glass is clear, and the three metal rings screen the lamp from the side and push the light downwards. At eye level you see the lit edges of the rings rather than the source itself. Where it may be installed IP54 protects the fitting against dust and splashing water from any direction, so it can hang on an open wall with no canopy over it. Protection class I requires a PE earth conductor to be connected. The manufacturer intends this model for the driveway, the entrance, the terrace and the patio. Galvanizing, patina and guarantee Vejers Down belongs to the Designed For Seaside range, meant also for the coast, where salt and damp destroy ordinary finishes. Galvanized steel darkens over time and loses its initial shine — the patina that forms belongs to the material and is not a sign of wear.
