VT-7829 is a pendant with a black body shaped as a long oval, hung on a thin cable below a cylindrical canopy. The luminous line runs along the inner edge of the oval, so the light comes out from inside the ring. How big it is and where to hang it From the canopy to the lower edge the luminaire measures 153 cm, and the oval itself is 7 cm wide. The shape is narrow and strongly elongated: it takes almost no horizontal room but drops a long way, so subtract those 153 cm from your own ceiling height and check where the bottom edge ends up. The canopy is 10 cm across and hides the mounting bracket and the terminal block. The whole luminaire weighs 0.64 kg, so the load on the ceiling is small. How much light it gives It draws 13 W and delivers 1500 lm — roughly what two old 60 W bulbs used to give. 3000 K is warm white: the light reads as yellowish, without the clearly orange cast of 2700 K. Colour rendering is Ra 80 and the beam angle is 120°. The luminaire is not dimmable, so a dimmer on the circuit changes nothing here — the output is fixed. Light source and wiring The LED is built in permanently and cannot be replaced: once it is spent, the whole luminaire is replaced. The manufacturer quotes a life of 18 years at three hours a day and more than 15,000 switching cycles. Supply is 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz, and the luminaire is wired in permanently through the terminal block in the canopy — there is no plug. On the energy label the manufacturer states class E and a consumption of 13 kWh per 1000 hours. The warranty runs two years.Show more
