Tilo 5-Spot is a pendant built as a straight bar 80 cm long, with five slim heads hanging beneath it. Each head is 6 cm across and 24,6 cm tall. The body is black metal and the wooden parts are ash painted black. Size and mounting The canopy measures 80,6 cm, taking up almost the whole length of the fitting — at the ceiling there is one bar, not five separate points. The fitting weighs 4,46 kg; the manufacturer notes it is not suitable for hook suspension, so the bar is fixed permanently to the ceiling, and a plasterboard ceiling needs a fixing into the supporting structure. The textile-braided cable is 200 cm long and black. It cannot be replaced, so it is worth shortening it to the final height during installation. Protection class II means no PE earth conductor is needed for the connection. Five heads and the lamps they take Each head takes one GU10 lamp of up to 15 W — five lamps in total. None are supplied, so colour, brightness and beam angle are yours to choose; with five points it is worth buying a matched set so the tints do not drift apart. The narrow, opaque sleeves screen the lamps from the side and send the light straight down. Over a table that gives five separate pools rather than one diffuse wash — which is why the manufacturer intends the fitting for a long dining table and a kitchen island. It can be dimmed if dimmable lamps and a dimmer in the circuit are used. FSC-certified ash The wooden parts are ash (Fraxinus) from Canada, FSC certified — from a forest managed to that organisation's standards. The wood is painted black, so the grain stays visible rather than the natural colour; next to the matt metal it makes one dark body out of two different textures.
