The Mantra TARIFA III 8987 is a wall light for reading: a cylindrical head 3 cm across sits on a joint on a rectangular aluminium plate 18 cm high. The whole body is finished in brushed brass. A small switch sits on the plate, with a USB Type-C socket below it. How much light it gives and what it is for The built-in LED module draws 3 W and delivers 210 lm. That is about a quarter of what a 60 W bulb gave — deliberately little, because the light is not meant to fill a room but a narrow patch in front of it. The movable head aims that beam at a book rather than at the face of the person next to you. The 3000 K colour is a warm white, which wakes you less than neutral light — hence the usual place for a fixture like this beside a bed. A colour rendering index of Ra 80 matches ordinary home lighting. The LED is permanently built in and cannot be swapped like a bulb; the manufacturer rates it at 30,000 hours. It cannot be dimmed, so there is one brightness. Switch and USB-C charger An on/off switch is integrated into the plate, so the light is operated at the fixture itself and does not have to be wired to a separate wall switch. Below it the manufacturer fitted a USB Type-C charging socket — a phone charges straight from the light, with no adapter in a socket on the far side of the bed. Dimensions, mounting and build The plate is 18 cm high and 6 cm by 2.5 cm in its other dimensions, with the head projecting about 11 cm from it — figures to compare with the width of your own bedside table and the distance from the headboard. The fixture weighs 0.55 kg. The body is aluminium. It is protection class II (double insulated), so the connection needs no earth conductor, and it runs on 220–240 V.
