GL 80 LED iHF is a bollard light 63.3 cm tall. A cube-shaped opal plastic shade sits on a flat silver aluminium post, and the motion detector is hidden inside the housing - no lens or window shows from the outside. How tall it is and how it is fixed down At 63.3 cm the shade sits below eye level, so the light falls on the paving rather than into the eyes of anyone walking past. The base measures 16.1 × 11 cm and ends in a flat foot plate bolted to the ground - there is no spike to push into soil, so a paved surface or a footing is needed. The fitting weighs 1.37 kg. Class I construction means an earth conductor has to be connected, and IP44 allows outdoor use but not a position hosed with a jet of water. Impact resistance IK03 and a working range of -20 to 40 °C set the conditions the manufacturer intends for year-round use. How the sensor works and what the app sets The high-frequency sensor covers 160° and detects movement up to 5 metres, an area of about 35 m². The reach is adjustable on two axes between 1 and 5 metres, so a bollard standing by a fence can be set not to trigger on movement beyond it. The STEINEL Connect app connects to the fitting over Bluetooth Mesh. It sets the twilight threshold from 2 to 2000 lux, the on-time from 5 seconds to 60 minutes, and a schedule. There is also a basic light level of 10-50%, a soft light start and a continuous-light mode, and several bollards can be joined into one group that switches together. How much light it gives The LED module draws 9.1 W and gives 650 lm at 3000 K, warm white - a little less than an old 60 W bulb. A colour rendering index of Ra 82 is enough to light a footpath and a driveway. The light source cannot be replaced. The manufacturer quotes 50 000 hours of module life and over 60 000 hours to a 30% drop in output at 25 °C; in standby the fitting draws 1 W.Show more
