HEX is a RENDL pendant set made of three parts: a round lacquered-aluminium canopy 8 cm across, a black textile-braided cable, and a metal E27 lampholder at its end. Two threaded rings close the lampholder, and a shade clamps between them. The whole set is black, and the lampholder itself has a dark, mirror-like finish. What is in the box and what to buy separately The set contains the canopy, the cable and the lampholder. Neither a bulb nor a shade is included — both are ordered separately. The lampholder takes E27 lamps of up to 15 W; that is the set's ceiling, not its consumption. It connects to the 230 V mains and needs no driver. Dimming is decided by the bulb and the dimmer — there is no electronics in the lampholder itself. Dimensions and drop The canopy is 8 cm in diameter and 2.7 cm high, so what stays on the ceiling is a low, flat disc covering the installation box. The cable is 150 cm long and it sets the maximum drop — a figure worth comparing with the height of the room and with how low the lamp is meant to hang over a worktop or a side table. The set itself weighs 0.32 kg, and 0.37 kg packed, so what really loads the mounting point is the shade hung on it. Which shades it works with RENDL intends the set for lightweight shades and names the models ARISTA, DELI, JAKARANDA, DOUBLE 40/30, DOUBLE 55/30, ASPRO 40/30, RON 40/25, RON 55/30, RON 60/19, TEMPO 30/19 and TEMPO 50/19. Without a shade the set works as a single lamp with an exposed bulb — the manufacturer states that use outright, so a decorative E27 bulb is as valid a choice here as a shade.Show more
