REP 27 is a recessed outdoor light in a black rectangular housing with a 27 × 9 cm face. The LEDs sit in a slot cut at an angle along the bottom edge, so the source itself stays out of sight at eye level — what you see is the lit surface below the fitting. The opening you need to prepare The manufacturer gives a mounting hole of 8 × 26 cm and a recess depth of 5 cm. Those two figures settle whether the fitting will go into a given wall, so it is worth checking them before any cutting starts. The face is a centimetre larger than the opening in both directions, so the rim covers 5 mm on each side. The whole fitting weighs 0.656 kg. How much light it gives The fitting puts out 431 lm from 10 W. That is enough light to mark a route rather than to light a whole terrace — enough to see where a step ends or where the edge of a path runs. 3000 K is warm white, and a colour rendering index of Ra 80 is adequate wherever colours do not have to match exactly. The beam spreads at 90°. The LED source is built in permanently and cannot be replaced; the manufacturer states a life of 25,000 hours. Installation and operating conditions The manufacturer allows only one orientation: the slot must face downwards. The fitting is not intended to work in any other position. IP65 protection allows it to be set into an outdoor wall with nothing sheltering it, and it works indoors just as well. It runs on 230 V, and both the driver and the light source come in the box — beyond the opening and a cable run there is nothing else to buy. Where to fit it The manufacturer intends REP 27 for orientation lighting on walkways, stairs and terraces.
