The Senser 24 DL is a round recessed ceiling downlight with a white aluminium bezel and a 21.5 cm diameter. The whole luminaire is 2 cm deep, and only 3 mm of bezel stays below the ceiling line — once fitted it sits very nearly flush. The cut-out it needs and the space above the ceiling The mounting cut-out is round and 20.5 cm across; the 21.5 cm bezel covers it with half a centimetre of margin all round. The manufacturer states an installation depth of 3 cm — that much clear space has to remain above the plasterboard, cable included. Two spring clips that fold out from the sides of the body hold the luminaire in the opening, so nothing is screwed into the ceiling. At 0.309 kg the load on the board is negligible. How much light it gives and of what kind The module draws 13 W and delivers 1300 lm, which is 100 lm/W. 4000 K is a neutral white — without the yellow cast of an incandescent bulb and without the blue tone of daylight. Colour rendering of Ra 90 is high for a recessed fitting: colours look almost as they do by day, which counts in a kitchen over a worktop and at a mirror. The half-peak beam angle is 110° and the emission is direct and symmetric, so a single unit lights a wide area beneath it rather than a narrow spot. The manufacturer states a life of 50,000 hours. The light source is built in permanently and cannot be replaced. What you need to buy with it The luminaire is protection class III and runs on 500 mA direct current, so it is not wired straight to 230 V — it needs a separate LED driver with a 500 mA output, which is not included. The manufacturer names drivers 1007226 (21 W, 500 mA), 1007227 (15 W, 350/500 mA, phase-dimmable) and 1007229 (DALI, 25 W, 150–700 mA). Dimming therefore follows from the driver you choose: the luminaire itself has no brightness control, and it becomes dimmable only through a phase-dimming driver or a DALI controller.
