RADO TR040-4-18WTW-DD-W is a magnetic-track spotlight with a round head 10.2 cm across, set on a short stem above the track adapter. The body is aluminium finished in white and the front is closed with an opal diffuser. The light source is a built-in 18 W LED. Which track it fits The luminaire belongs to the Exility magnetic system with a 23 mm track and runs on 48 V. It mounts magnetically: the adapter is simply placed against the track, with no screws or tools. That also sets a limit: the spotlight will not work on an ordinary 230 V track, so it needs the Exility 23 mm track and the system power supply. The track adapter is 19.3 cm long, the head itself measures 10.2 cm across and the whole fitting stands 10.7 cm tall. Compare the adapter length with the spacing you plan between the luminaires on your own track. Colour temperature from 2700 to 6000 K The colour of the light is adjustable between 2700 K and 6000 K. At the lower end the light is warm and slightly yellow, close to a traditional bulb; at the upper end it is cool and white. One luminaire therefore covers both situations - warmer light in the evening and cooler light for work, without changing the source. DALI dimming Control runs over the DALI protocol, which is what the DD in the code TR040-4-18WTW-DD-W stands for. Brightness and colour are changed from a DALI controller that has to be part of the installation. The luminaire does not work with a wall dimmer, so the control gear has to be planned together with the track. How much light it gives and how it is built The 750 lm flux spreads over a 120-degree beam, which is wide - light for the whole zone under the track rather than a narrow beam aimed at a single object. A colour rendering index of Ra 90 means colours under this luminaire look close to daylight, which matters over a worktop and anywhere goods are inspected. The LED is built in permanently and cannot be replaced; the manufacturer states a service life of 50,000 hours and a five-year warranty. The declared energy class is G - part of the power is absorbed by the colour-tuning circuit and by the opal diffuser, which scatters the light instead of directing it into a narrow spot.Show more
