Plug 400 is a square ceiling light of 40 × 40 cm and 93 mm deep, for mounting on a ceiling or a wall. The housing is moulded from ABS granulate coloured right through in anthracite RAL 7016, so a scratch exposes no different shade underneath. The cover is opal, UV-stabilised polycarbonate, with stainless-steel screws and silicone-sealed joints. Where it can go and how it is fixed An IP65 rating means the luminaire is dust-tight and withstands water jets, so it works on a facade, a terrace or a driveway with no shelter over it, and indoors too. The manufacturer also clears it for salt-laden coastal air. The cover carries IK08 impact resistance, equal to 5 J, and the ambient temperature may run from 0 to 50 °C. The luminaire is fixed through its base — at least two of the pre-set holes have to be drilled out with a 5 mm bit. Screws and wall plugs are not supplied; choose them to suit the surface. The cable enters through the gland and must be double-sheathed HAR type, 6–8 mm across. The driver is built in, on 220–240 V. How much light it gives and in what colour The LED module draws 20 W and delivers 1956 lm at 3000 K or 2117 lm at 4000 K — more than twice an old 60 W bulb, enough as the main light in a passage, a stairwell or over a front door. Colour temperature is set once, at installation, on the CCT micro-switches of the LED board: 3000 K is warm, slightly yellow white, 4000 K neutral white. The light source is integrated and only the manufacturer may replace it. Protection class II needs no earth conductor. Motion sensor and emergency mode The sensor brings the light to 100% on movement, dims it to a stand-by level once the hold-time runs out and only then switches it off. Hold-time is picked on micro-switches: 5 s, 90 s, 3 min or 10 min. The daylight sensor has thresholds of 50, 10 and 2 lux or can be switched off — while active it keeps the luminaire dark in daylight despite movement. This version is a maintained emergency luminaire: after a mains failure it runs for 3 hours on its battery. Once installed the battery must charge for at least 24 hours to reach that time, and the manufacturer gives four years as the replacement interval.Show more
