Bot 2 Black is a surface-mounted ceiling light: a flat rectangular bar 40 cm wide carries two cylindrical spot heads on short joints. Bar and heads are metal finished in matt black, and each cylinder measures 11.5 cm across. How much room it takes under the ceiling The bar is 40 cm wide and 18 cm deep, and the fitting stands 10 cm below the ceiling — that is how far the ceiling line drops at the mounting point. Compare the 40 cm with the length of your worktop or with the width of the area you want lit, because the two heads are spread across the whole bar. The fitting weighs 1.02 kg and is fixed straight to the ceiling; in a plasterboard ceiling the fixing has to reach the supporting structure. Which bulbs it needs The manufacturer specifies 2 x GU10 (ES111) max. 10 W LED. The cap is the ordinary GU10, but the lamp is meant to be an ES111 reflector 111 mm across, not the common 50 mm GU10 capsule — a small capsule disappears inside an 11.5 cm cylinder and leaves its opening unfilled. This is the mistake made most often with this series. Bulbs are not included, and the manufacturer allows LED sources only, up to 10 W per point. Colour temperature and output are therefore your choice, within that wattage. What the movable joints give you Each head sits on its own joint, so the beam angle is set separately for the two points: both beams can meet on one spot or split between a wall and a worktop. Light from a reflector lamp is directional — it lights the part of the room you aim it at instead of spreading evenly through the whole interior. With two points that means two distinct pools of light whose position you decide.
