Płatek 5244412 is a children's flush ceiling light shaped like a flower: flat white petals spread around a grey circular disc with a chrome screw head in the middle. Three adjustable white cone-shaped lamp holders sit above the disc, each suspended in a metal ring. Size and mounting The fitting measures 39 cm across at its widest point and 33 cm the other way, and it projects 16 cm below the ceiling. Compare that last figure with your ceiling height and with whatever sits directly underneath — the top bunk of a bunk bed, for instance. Płatek mounts straight onto the ceiling and the manufacturer supplies the screws. The back of the disc carries a mounting bracket, a terminal block and three fixing holes, so installation comes down to screwing on the base plate and connecting the wires. It runs on standard 230 V. Aiming the light The three light points swivel up and down and sideways, so you can aim them separately at a desk, a play corner and a bed instead of spreading light evenly across the room. Each holder takes an E14 bulb of up to 40 W, or an LED source of up to 8 W. The manufacturer also allows wiring in which only one or two of the three holders light up, so the same fitting gives brighter light for homework and dimmer light in the evening. For this lamp the manufacturer recommends bulbs with a natural light colour. Finish and intended room The manufacturer states that the body is made of wood-fibre board coated with paint that is safe for the environment. The finish is matt and plain: white petals, a grey disc in the centre, no prints or ornament. Model 5244412 is the white-and-grey version; Płatek also comes in other colour combinations.
