HELIA AMBIENT 35 is a pendant shaped as a slim black tube — the aluminium body is 3.5 cm across and 38 cm long. At 3.5 cm across it takes up about as much room under the ceiling as a thicker candle, which is why several of them usually hang in a line over a longer worktop instead of one large fitting.The canopy is a cylinder 6 cm across and 16 cm tall — under the ceiling it reads as a separate element rather than a flat disc. The cable is 200 cm long and is shortened during installation; over a kitchen island the lower end of the tube is usually set 70–80 cm above the work surface.How much light it gives and of what kindThe built-in LED draws 9 W and gives 425 lm. That is roughly half the output of a former 60 W bulb, so it is light for one specific spot rather than for a whole room. The 3000 K colour is warm, but without the distinctly yellow cast of 2700 K.A colour rendering index of Ra 90 means colours look true under this light — which matters over a work surface. The light source cannot be replaced, as the LED is integrated into the fitting; the manufacturer quotes an average life of 30,000 h.Dimming and powerBrightness can be adjusted, but only with a trailing edge phase dimmer. The fitting does not support DALI. It runs on 220–240 V at 50/60 Hz.Which interior it suitsThe form is minimalist: one uninterrupted black tube with no ornament, and beside it only the thin suspension cable is visible.
