Paloma 6311 is three reeded honey-glass globes suspended from a round brushed-brass canopy on cords of differing length, so the globes hang at three different heights. Spread 55 × 55 cm, maximum drop 152.5 cm. Buy the right bulb first — otherwise it will not fit This is the most important fact about this light and you will not find it in most listings. The manufacturer's instruction sheet gives maximum light-source dimensions: 45 mm diameter, 78 mm length. That means: You need E27 G45 golf-ball bulbs — Ø 45 mm. The common A60 pear shape is Ø 60 mm and 110 mm long and will physically not fit. Maximum 15 W per socket, 45 W for the whole fitting. The pictogram on the instructions explicitly crosses out an incandescent lamp and points to LED — this is an LED-only fitting. Bulbs are not included — you buy three separately. The glass is transparent — and that changes which bulb to choose Honey "lister" is tinted, vertically reeded clear glass, not opal. The filament shows through, so: It looks best with a decorative LED filament G45 — a warm point filament split by the reeding into dozens of vertical highlights. That effect is the whole point of this light. An opal bulb kills the play of light but reduces glare if the fitting hangs low and in the eyeline of seated people. Amber glass absorbs and warms the light. Real room brightness will be noticeably lower than the sum of the lumens on the boxes — with three 470–600 lm bulbs, expect an atmospheric rather than a working light level. Over a dining table that is a virtue; as the only light in a kitchen it is not enough. Where, and how high A 55 cm spread and three different drop heights mean this is designed over a table, a kitchen island or in a stairwell, not in the middle of a room as general lighting. Over a worktop the usual rule is 70–85 cm from the surface to the bottom of the lowest shade — on this fitting measure to the lowest globe, not to the canopy. The cords are shortened during installation; 152.5 cm is the maximum. Installation and construction Weight 8.3 kg — this is not a light for an ordinary ceiling hook. The manufacturer supplies 2 wall plugs and requires a mounting bar screwed to the ceiling; it also marks the product with a "fit by a qualified electrician" pictogram. IP20 — dry interiors only. Not over an island in an outdoor kitchen, and not in a bathroom. Supply 230 V, connected on a terminal block inside the canopy; the shades go on after wiring. Materials: glass and brass; metal finish brushed brass — matt rather than mirror-bright, and forgiving of fingerprints. The three-light pendants and the larger single pendants take E27, while the chandeliers, flush fittings and smaller wall lights take E14.
