PALMAS is a wall light with two ribbed smoked-glass spheres set on a steel base plate in brushed gold. The fitting is 39 cm long, 15.1 cm wide and projects 20.3 cm from the wall. How it mounts The manufacturer allows two orientations: the base plate can be screwed on horizontally, putting the spheres side by side, or vertically, one above the other. The same fixing therefore covers both a light beside a mirror and a band of light above it — the choice is made when the holes are drilled. The fitting weighs 1.77 kg, or 2.56 kg boxed. It is insulation class II, meaning double insulation: no earth conductor needs to reach the box. The height cannot be adjusted; the spheres are fixed to the plate. How much light it gives and of what kind The source is a built-in LED module drawing 18 W and putting out 1361 lm at 3000 K, a warm white. For comparison, an old 60 W bulb gave around 800 lm, so the two spheres together are noticeably brighter than a single point beside a mirror. Ra 90 means colours are rendered faithfully — at a bathroom mirror that shows the true colour of skin and make-up. The ribbed smoked glass breaks the light into rows of vertical stripes, so the spheres glow unevenly with the ribbing clearly drawn. The fitting can be dimmed, but a dimmer has to be present in the installation. The LED module is built in permanently and is not replaced. The energy label gives class G and consumption of 18 kWh per 1000 hours of use. Where it can hang An IP44 rating means protection against splashing water from any direction, so the manufacturer permits installation in a bathroom as well as in other interior rooms.
