ROX Ceiling Out is a surface-mounted outdoor ceiling light shaped as a low cylinder in brushed aluminium. Underneath it is closed by a glass pane set in an aluminium ring, through which the inside of the reflector is visible. The fitting measures 12.5 cm across and 6 cm high, and its net weight is 0.64 kg. Mounting and connection The luminaire is fixed straight onto the ceiling surface — no cut-out and no space above the ceiling are needed. It projects 6 cm below the ceiling; that figure is worth comparing with the headroom where the fitting is to go. Power is connected directly to the 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz mains, with no separate driver. The fitting belongs to safety class I, so the circuit needs a working earth conductor. Which lamp to buy There is one GX53 socket, intended for a lamp of up to 11 W — that is the limit for the bulb, not the consumption of the fitting itself. No lamp is included, so it has to be ordered separately. SLV names two recommended GX53 lamps: a 6 W LED at 3000 K with Ra 94 (item 1005271) and a 6 W LED at 2700 K with Ra 90 (item 1005272). The first gives warm white, the second a warmer light closer to an old incandescent bulb, and both have a 120-degree beam and high colour rendering, so colours under the fitting stay true. The glass pane covers the lamp and the light is directed straight downwards. Working outdoors The IP44 rating means protection against splashing water from any direction, and it is what makes the manufacturer designate ROX Ceiling Out for outdoor use — on the ceiling of a terrace or a garden gazebo. The brushed aluminium body has a plain, bare surface with no ornament.
