Nidaros 2120WH is a surface-mounted ceiling luminaire for outdoor use: a shallow aluminium cylinder 12 cm across and 9 cm deep, white on the outside, with a deep silver reflector set into its underside. The LED is built in — there is no socket and no lamp to change. Where it can go The fitting is rated IP65, so it withstands water jets from any direction, and it works from −20 to +45 °C — which suits it to a driveway canopy, a carport or arcade ceiling, and an exposed façade. The manufacturer specifies mounting on two holes, following the enclosed instructions. At 12 cm across and 9 cm deep it stands less than a hand's width off the ceiling. Compare that with the room left above a doorway or under the beam of a canopy, because this fitting mounts on the surface rather than recessing into it. How much light, and what kind The LED module itself produces 1051 lm, but 762 lm leave the luminaire — the deep reflector holds the rest back as it gathers the light downwards instead of spilling it sideways. That is roughly what an old 60 W bulb gave, aimed in one direction. Colour temperature is 3000 K, a warm white close to a classic incandescent, and colour rendering of Ra 80 is enough for a path and an entrance. The manufacturer rates the whole luminaire at 71.2 lm/W on a 10.7 W draw. Because the LED is integrated, the whole fitting is replaced at the end of its life. Wiring and control The fitting is protection class I, so an earth conductor is required to connect it — worth checking before buying if the façade wiring is older. Supply is 220–240 V and the power factor is 0.95. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow further fittings to be looped through on up to 1.5 mm², which matters for a row of them in one soffit. The gland is sized for a round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter. The manufacturer lists the fitting as dimmable without naming a control system. The luminaire weighs 1 kg.Show more
