Milane FMIK1277 is a two-seater garden sofa moulded from plastic in a single piece: seat, back, armrests and legs form one body, with no joints and no upholstery. The finish is matte and smooth, in the white the manufacturer codes as S449. How much terrace it takes up The sofa is 120 cm long and 73.5 cm deep, and the back stops 73.2 cm above the ground. Those are the figures to set against the free wall of a terrace or the width of a balcony; allowing 80 cm to walk past the piece means adding roughly the same again to the depth. The manufacturer packs 11 units on a pallet about 1.9 m high. With a sofa 73 cm tall, that means the pieces nest into one another — for winter or during building work they can be stacked rather than lined up side by side. How it sits The seat is 38 cm high, clearly lower than a dining chair — you sit half-reclined with your legs forward, and getting up from there takes more effort than from a 45 cm seat. Across, the seat measures 102 cm, and the manufacturer describes the sofa as a two-seater. The maximum load is 220 kg, and the manufacturer gives it for the whole sofa rather than per seat. Seat and back are smooth, without quilting and without cushions, so softness is something you add separately.
