MIB 6 is a wall light from Nordlux's Design For The People line, drawn by the Danish studio Bønnelycke MDD. The whole fitting comes down to three elements: a round wall base 10 cm across, a short arm, and a cylindrical shade 6 cm in diameter and 20 cm tall. Nothing else — no ornament, no decorative trim. A movable head: 90° tilt, 320° rotation The shade tilts through 90° and turns 320° around the axis of the base, so the beam can be aimed exactly where it is needed: at the page of a book, at a picture, at a section of wall, or upwards when reflected light is what you are after. That adjustment is what separates MIB 6 from an ordinary fixed-direction wall light, and what makes it a practical reading lamp beside a bed or an armchair. Touch switch on the base The light is operated by a touch button on the round wall base — the manufacturer designed it to be controlled at the fitting itself rather than from a switch in the wall. That matters when planning the installation: MIB 6 needs no separate switched outlet, only a supply. The cable is 180 cm long, black with a plastic sheath and — unusually in this class of fitting — replaceable. One GU10 socket, 20 W maximum The shade holds a single GU10 lampholder rated at a maximum of 20 W; the bulb is not included. As the fitting cannot be dimmed there is no point buying a dimmable lamp — better to settle brightness and colour once by picking the right GU10 LED. The narrow tube of the shade works well with sources of a tighter beam angle if crisp, directional light is the goal. Metal, black RAL 9005 Body and base are metal throughout, finished in matt black RAL 9005 — the same shade used for window profiles and aluminium joinery. The fitting weighs 0.78 kg, so mounting calls for no special anchors. IP20 places it in dry rooms, and Class II (double insulation) means no earth conductor needs connecting. Where MIB 6 works Beside a bed, one on each side of the headboard, as a pair of reading lights. Next to an armchair in the living room. Above a desk where there is no room for a table lamp.
