Q20 is a LUMINES aluminium angle profile for lighting the inside of a shelf. The length supplied is 2.02 m in the raw finish — no lacquer, no coating, the colour of bare extruded aluminium. The profile throws its light at 45 degrees into the depth of the shelf. Which shelf it fits Q20 slides onto a board 20 mm thick — that is the only thickness its slot matches; for an 18 mm board there is a separate profile, Q18. It is worth measuring the real thickness of your shelf with a caliper before ordering, because faced board runs thicker by the edging. The section is 10 mm deep and 37.9 mm tall overall, of which 19.9 mm is the visible front that hides the board edge. The 2.02 m length is cut to size with a hacksaw. The profile cannot be joined end to end, so each length works on its own. What strip fits and how much power it takes The channel accepts LED strips up to 12 mm wide. The aluminium carries heat away from the diodes, and the manufacturer states the limit of that: at a profile temperature of 55°C it dissipates 23.1 W, and at 65°C it dissipates 31.5 W. Compare those figures with your strip's power per metre times the length: a strip drawing 14 W/m gives 28 W over two metres, which only fits inside the second threshold. What you have to buy alongside The length of profile comes without an LED strip, without a cover and without a driver. The driver sits outside the profile, so it needs a place in the cabinet and a cable run to it. BASIC covers for Q20 come transparent, frosted, milky, milky frosted and black, and as the lens versions Lens 15 and Lens 30, which narrow the beam. The profile is fixed with double-sided tape or pressed into a groove milled in advance; the manufacturer provides for surface and edge mounting.
