A spotlight at the door that switches itself on TAYLOR is a small outdoor wall spotlight: a cylindrical head 5.7 cm across on a rectangular base of 10 × 15 cm. The complete fitting measures 10 × 15.3 × 15 cm and weighs 0.81 kg — a scale that works well beside a front door, over a gate, on a garage wall or by the steps to a terrace. The head rotates and tilts through a full 360°, so once the base is fixed the beam points exactly where it is needed: at the path, at the door, or up the façade. That usually matters more than wattage, because the angle at which light falls is what decides how effective a fitting like this is. PIR motion sensor and daylight sensor The fitting has a built-in PIR motion sensor with a range of up to 8 m and a 100° detection angle. The on-time after detection is adjustable across a wide span, from 5 seconds to 8 minutes — the first suits someone walking past, the second suits carrying shopping in or hunting for keys. The second piece of automation is a daylight sensor with an adjustable threshold. It stops the fitting responding to movement during the day and keeps it from drawing power when light is not wanted. Both sensors work on their own — no external controller is needed, an ordinary supply circuit is enough. You choose the lamp TAYLOR takes a GU10 (MR16) lamp and ships without a bulb; the permitted rating is 50 W. The manufacturer recommends its own lamp 49006/05/30, but any standard GU10 fits — LED makes the most sense, because in a sensor fitting the light is switched many times a day and LED tolerates frequent switching far better than halogen. The fitting is not dimmable. That is by design: dimming has no role in a motion-sensor circuit, and connecting one would disturb the sensor electronics. Construction and installation The body is powder-coated aluminium in matt white — a coating that resists both UV and moisture. IP54 means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, so it is fully suited to an exposed façade. The fitting works in protection class I and therefore needs the PE earth conductor connected. Installation materials are supplied, and Lucide covers the product with a two-year warranty.
