LUMINES Y is a surface-mounted aluminium profile in an anodized INOX finish, supplied as a 1 m length. The rectangular section measures 17.0 mm wide by 18.0 mm high, and the raised side walls hide the strip from the viewing direction. Which strip and which driver The channel inside the profile is 14.0 mm wide and 15.5 mm deep, and the slot under the cover measures 11.4 mm. The manufacturer states a maximum LED strip width of 12 mm, so the common 8 mm and 10 mm strips drop in freely while anything wider than 12 mm will not. The driver goes outside the profile — there is no room for it in the channel. It is chosen to match the wattage and voltage of the strip you use, and bought separately, as is the strip itself. With the Y M1 mounting profile the strip can sit at a different height in the channel, which changes the angle at which light leaves the cover. Lengths of this profile cannot be joined into one continuous line — a longer run is made from separate lengths, or ordered as a custom length up to 6 m. The profile is not drive-over rated, so it does not belong in a floor that is driven on. The bare profile, with no cover and no sealing, carries no declared ingress rating; only the assembly with the right cover and sealing reaches IP68, while the ordinary cover assembly is IP20.Show more
