The V profile is a white lacquered recessed aluminium profile for LED strips, intended for furniture builds. The strip chamber inside it is tilted, so the light leaves at a 15° angle rather than straight down. The section is 1 m long. What groove has to be routed The profile body is 16 mm wide, and the groove it is pressed into has to match that width. Below the flange the profile reaches 14.5 mm into the material — that is the depth the board has to allow for. On the surface a 21 mm wide flange remains; it covers the edges of the groove and is the only visible part of the profile. Overall height is 15.5 mm. The manufacturer provides for press-fit mounting or double-sided tape, with no adhesive and no screws. Individual sections of this profile cannot be joined into one continuous line, so the length of the lighting is settled by choosing the section rather than by butting several pieces together. Which strip fits inside The inner chamber is 14 mm wide and the manufacturer allows an LED strip up to 13 mm wide — check that dimension in the strip description before ordering. The strip is not included. There is no room inside the profile for a driver; the manufacturer places it outside the profile, so space has to be planned for it in the cabinet or behind the furniture. Cover and end caps are bought separately The V profile takes covers from the BASIC range in PMMA and PC, from transparent through milky to black. The cover sits recessed in the profile, which hides the diodes and limits glare — on a shelf at eye level that is what decides whether you look straight into the light source. The side end caps, left and right separately, come in plastic and in aluminium. The profile cannot be sealed, so its place is inside a dry furniture build.Show more
