The shade alone, for a fitting you assemble RON 55/30 is not a finished luminaire — it is a shade with an E27 fitting, one component of the Rendl system in which shade, suspension and base are bought separately and combined as you like. The manufacturer names what this shade works with outright: ceiling bases, pendant sets and stands from the HEX, ELISA, ENZO, LISA, POSTE, TRIX and KOMBIX ranges. So the same drum can hang over a table, stand on the floor or sit on a sideboard — the base decides, not the shade. Wide diameter, low profile It measures 55 cm across by 30 cm high — a distinctly wide proportion rather than a tall cylinder. At that diameter the shade gathers a lot of light and returns it as a broad, soft pool downward, while the walls glow evenly all the way round. Over a dining table, 55 cm is the size that visually holds a 90–100 cm wide top; on a smaller table it dominates. White polycotton over white PVC The fabric is polycotton — a polyester-cotton blend that neither ripples nor yellows the way pure cotton does, while keeping a matt, textile surface rather than a plastic sheen. It is stretched over white PVC, so light passing through the wall stays neutrally white. That matters in practice: the copper- and gold-foil variants of the same range (R11480, R11463) throw a warm reflection inward, whereas this one reproduces the bulb's own colour faithfully. E27, and 23 W at most The E27 fitting takes any lamp with that cap, but the manufacturer caps the power at 23 W. That is a thermal limit for the fabric, not a suggestion — a 23 W LED today equals roughly a 150 W filament, so the ceiling is not tight in practice. No light source is supplied. Diffuser sold separately If the lamp should be screened from below — and with a shade this shallow it is visible to anyone looking up from the table — Rendl offers a PMMA diffuser under codes G11868 and G12300 separately. It slides into the shade's lower rim and turns the open shade into a fully diffused fitting. It is not part of this item.
