This is a children's pendant lamp in the shape of a biplane, made entirely of solid pine by the Polish manufacturer Hellux. The fuselage is painted celadon, the wings and remaining parts green; the aircraft hangs on two cords beneath a green cylindrical canopy, with a bare bulb visible between the wings. The propeller and undercarriage really turn This is not just a shape. The propeller and the undercarriage move — a child can spin them, which turns the lamp into an object to look at and touch rather than just ceiling decoration. The maker designed it with exactly that in mind, and it is the one feature that separates it from flat plywood silhouettes. The paints and oils used for the finish are water-based and hold a safety certificate for children and the environment — relevant on a lamp that hangs in a child's room and that someone will sooner or later touch. The bulb is visible — and that changes how you pick it The aeroplane has no shade: the E27 socket sits between the wings and the bulb is exposed from every side. The manufacturer says outright what works here — a GLOBE bulb, i.e. spherical, in an opal (milky) finish, in a warm or neutral colour. The milky envelope diffuses the light and does not dazzle a child looking up from bed, while the spherical shape matches the proportions of the aeroplane. A clear filament bulb or an ordinary candle lamp would look accidental here and glare. Maximum lamp power is 60 W; the manufacturer permits LED bulbs, which is the natural choice for a child's room — less heat within reach and a lower bill. Dimensions and installation The model itself is 31.5 cm long with a 28.5 cm wingspan, and the whole lamp including the suspension measures 70 cm in height. That is a size that reads as a proper ceiling light rather than a small novelty — worth checking how much room is left above a bed or a desk, especially in a room with a low ceiling.
