E518 is an outdoor wall light in a graphite aluminium housing, a plain box 20.5 cm wide, 11.1 cm deep and 6 cm high. Three separate LED lenses sit behind a strip of tempered glass on the front face. The paint has a matte, finely grained texture. How it throws light The optic is asymmetric: the light leaves at an angle to one side rather than evenly across. The manufacturer states that mounted at 1.75 m the fitting lights a band up to 5.5 m long and 4 m wide — two figures worth holding against the stretch of facade or driveway you mean to light. The three modules give 968 lm together from 3 × 4.5 W. 3000 K is warm white, and a colour rendering index of Ra 85 is enough to keep the shade of render or timber on a facade readable. The angled distribution keeps the source out of the line of sight from below, so the fitting throws strong light without glare. Power and outdoor operation The LED source is built in permanently and cannot be replaced; the manufacturer states a life of L70B50 30,000 h. The fitting cannot be dimmed. It runs on 220–240 V and belongs to protection class I, so a protective conductor has to be present where it is mounted. IP54 allows it to hang on an exposed facade, and the IK04 impact rating covers ordinary accidental knocks. The working temperature range runs from −35 to 50 °C. Where to mount it The manufacturer aims E518 at outdoor architectural surfaces — facades, walls, the wall beside an entrance.
