The Zambelis 2542 is a pendant light shaped as a ring of natural alabaster. The stone ring measures 34 cm across and 5.5 cm deep and hangs on three thin wires below a brass-finished ceiling canopy. Alabaster is natural stone, so the veining runs differently on every piece. How big it is and how low it hangs At 34 cm across, the ring is smaller than a typical dining-table fixture: a 40 cm shade holds its proportion over a tabletop 80–90 cm wide, so the 2542 sits better over a narrower table, over a kitchen island, or in a row of several pieces. The cable is 200 cm long and is shortened during installation, and the full drop is 210 cm — a figure to compare with your own ceiling height. The canopy is 10 cm across and 4 cm high, and the manufacturer calls for no ceiling cut-out and no recess depth: the fixture mounts on the surface. Over a table the drop is usually set so that the lower edge of the ring sits 70–80 cm above the tabletop. How much light it gives and how it dims The built-in LED module draws 25 W and delivers 2400 lm. That is a luminous flux in the range of general lighting rather than accent light — for comparison, an old 60 W incandescent bulb gave around 800 lm. 3000 K is warm white, and a colour rendering index of Ra 90 means food, fabrics and wood keep their true colours under it. The light source is permanently built in: there is no bulb to buy and none to replace, and the manufacturer quotes a lifetime of L70B50 30,000 h. Brightness is adjusted only with a TRIAC dimmer — the fixture has no controller and no remote of its own, so the dimmer is bought separately and wired into the circuit. The beam angle is 120°, so the light spreads wide instead of forming a narrow cone. Build and installation requirements The body combines brass-coloured metal with an alabaster ring. The stone is translucent, so the whole ring glows rather than a single point under the ceiling. The fixture is safety class I, which means a protective earth conductor is needed in the ceiling box. Its IP20 rating restricts it to dry rooms. Supply is 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz, and the manufacturer covers the lamp with a three-year warranty.Show more
