A chair with arms, not an armchair JOEL has a shape that misleads at first glance: the back wraps the seat in an arc and runs on into low armrests, leaving the characteristic arch-shaped cut-outs between them and the back. It is still a dining chair — a 50 cm seat height and 56 cm depth are dining dimensions, not lounge ones — but with a comfort an ordinary armless chair does not offer over a long dinner. Dimensions and matching a table The chair is 62 cm wide, 56 cm deep and 77 cm tall, with the seat at 50 cm — a few centimetres above the usual 45–46 cm. That matters when choosing a table: under a standard 75–78 cm top it leaves 25–28 cm of leg clearance, a comfortable figure, though it is worth checking that the armrests pass under the top — at 62 cm wide, measure before buying, especially where the table has a deep apron.
