GES880C is an outdoor wall light built as a flat, rectangular aluminium body finished in matt white. The light does not come out through a front diffuser — the fitting has two narrow slots, one at the top and one at the bottom. Up and down, two streams instead of one Two 6 W LED modules work inside, 12 W together, giving 650 lm in total. Each lights through its own slot, so two fans of light appear on the wall — one upward, one downward — while the body itself stays dark. The beam angle is 133°, which is very wide. The fans lie flat across the render and do not reach far from the wall: this fitting lights a facade, not the space in front of it. Marking a path in the dark takes several of them spaced along the wall. Colour and quality of light Colour temperature is 3000 K — warm white, warmer than daylight and without a blue cast, so render, brick and wood keep their natural tone after dark. Colour rendering exceeds Ra 80, which for facade lighting means the material's colour does not shift noticeably once the light is on. Declared module life is 30,000 hours. Running from dusk to midnight, that is on the order of fifteen years. Durability and mounting An IP54 rating means dust protection and resistance to splashing water from any direction — the fitting can hang on an open facade, exposed to rain. It is not, however, intended for places where a pressurised jet will hit it. The fitting is protection class I and therefore requires an earth conductor — it must not be installed on a garden circuit without earthing. It runs on 230 V, and the aluminium body carries heat away from the modules, which on an enclosed form affects how long they last.Show more
